“Action expresses priorities.” – Mahatma Gandhi

The question for 2013

As you enter 2013, ask yourself, what in your life is begging you to take action?

A wise person once told me that we all do exactly what we want to do and nothing more.  How I railed against the notion!  I want to do lots of things I’m not doing.

But if I want these things so badly, why am I not doing them already?

It’s because I want something else more.  Sadly, too often, those things involve watching television or eating out of a cardboard box.

Nobody lies on their deathbed thinking “I wish I’d eaten more bacon.”

As Gandhi so aptly put it, nothing expresses your priorities more elegantly than how you invest your time.

And another thing…

You may have a lot of ideas about what you think you want, and it’s likely that most of them are wrong.

Take the opportunity, at the beginning of this shiny new year, to ask yourself want you want now.

You might surprise yourself.
